President Gordon B. Hinckley, “I believe that it should be the blessing of every child to be born into a home where that child is welcomed, nurtured, loved, and blessed with parents, a father and a mother, who live with loyalty to one another and to their children."

The Several Month Update
So I haven't written in a while; the reason: pregnancy combined with small children. It's been an interesting time lately. We're expecting another little girl in October to add to our family and are very interested in the name Olivia. I'm happy for another girl, I am a girl, so I know little girls. Plus we already have many of the little girl supplies, clothes, toys, etc... Derek is now chief resident at U of A's Resident Anesthesia department which keeps him busy in his last year. He is an incredible doctor and I am very proud of him. We've been enjoying our back yard with Derek's beautiful roses that have been blossoming in the nice cool weather lately. We have also added a new playhouse and sand box. I thought a sand box would be a great idea since the girls love playing in dirt but have soon found that sand has started to show up in many unexpected places...like their little blow up swimming pool, and the bathroom, and the kitchen floor--not to mention the many baths we have to take in attempts to remove the caked on sand from little bodies--I'm rethinking the sand box idea though it is now too late. We celebrated Madelyn's birthday this past week which was a lot of fun. When we woke up in the morning, we had the house decorated for her which made her excited and then I asked her what she wanted to do for her Birthday. She said, "I want to make my cake." So she helped me mix it up and we cooked it. Derek later helped her decorate it. She poured all the sprinkles into the middle so there were tons of sprinkles gobbed up in the center and then she put little hearts around the edges. For several days after, I would ask her what she wanted to eat and she would reply, "my cake." It was very funny and cute. Unfortunately, Vivian got a hold of it also and they made short work of it soon after that. That's about it. We have just been enjoying life in which I am happy to once again discover that there is life (and food!) after the first three months of pregnancy...thank heavens!
